Mosquitoes, flies, repellent and insect bites were our best friend in our longer than usual OCIP trip to Cambodia. The first few days were spent touring the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. We visited places like the National Museum, Royal Palace, Killing Fields as well as the Genocide Museum. These places opened our eyes to the history of Cambodia right from the Khmer rouge to the infamous Polpot's regime. We better understood the atrocities of it and how the citizens are scarred by the aftermath of the regime.

With these thoughts still fresh in my mind, we entered Don Bosco school, Teuk Thla as well as one day at MC home (for the aids patients)  to render our services to the children who were less fortunate than us. We taught mainly Music and English, it was a fruitful experience as we finally understood it was not easy to be a teacher. Other than being teachers we were also canteen servers, dance instructors and playmates to the kids. The kids really humbled us and taught as that happiness in life can actually be easily obtained, often without material comfort. We grew closer to the kids as the days went by. Reality is cruel and as time would not permit, we could not not stay there forever, however much we wanted. It was soon time for us to bid our goodbyes. The farewell was an emotional affair with even the strongest breaking down as little gifts and cards were exchanged.

All in all, Cambodia has taught us the importance of simplicity in life and the happiness it carries. Although our physical contribution only lasted a week, we know that the hope we bring to them could possible last them a lifetime. Mother Teresa said, “In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love” 1T35 says, “We have indeed learn to love in Cambodia.”

I'm dying without internet access. The lobby don't even have wifi pls, the only place that has wifi is @ starbucks.

I think i'll just camp here forever cause of wifi and I'm seriously damn cold now. Oh yeah, it was dyaaam smart of me to upload the Batsu Game videos cause it proved to be a good source of entertainment.

There's quite a lot in my mind now and it's preventing me from falling asleep..

Sometimes, if only telling somebody how you truly feel and doing what you really want to do without considering the consequences was as easy as a b c and 123.

And maybe I would have been asleep instead of typing these. Another reality. Hmm too much fringe I guess.
